I am interested in feedback on this image. For me it works but I want to see what others may see in it. Does the composition work? The OOF foreground? B/W treatment, etc. It's always good to check in to see where your game stands. Thanks in advance.

first of all, thanks for posting. Taking a chance.

Its a really busy image. I am not sure yet what I think. If it were in a gallery, would it be an image I stop and look at? Maybe. Problem is, something with so much going on, I would rather have a much larger version. Not a critique of the image, but how it is presented. Not much you can do about it here though.

I would have to take more time with it to fully give you a critique. First impression though is I don't know what I am supposed to look at. The shapes are interesting. But then Im lost. Not sure what I am supposed to be seeing. That is where I am stuck. So I hope to come back at give you a second look. Hope that holds you over.....

When you tripped the shutter, what was your goal?

If it was "Oh, look!" [click], that's sort of what you got. Like Croasdail, I'm not sure what the subject is. Is it the ladder nailed to the tree? The cubicle object? The broken trunks and limbs?

The bushes in the foreground draw the eye because they're brighter than everything else. But they're out of focus. I am curious about what object is as the top of the ladder. The broken limbs suggest there was violence in the past, but it's not a strong message.

Came back for another look. Because the boards are the only thing that is symmetrical, they grab my eye. But they are dimly lit. The bramble of brush in the foreground is well let though, so the eye diverges to that bunch of brush.... and yet there isn't anything that makes you stay there.

And I say that based on the scale it is presented. Perhaps larger, you can see the detail better, which would change everything. So I am not saying it isn't good.. I am just saying to me, this medium (size) doesn't do what you see on your monitor... if that makes any sense...

But it is anything but a snapshot.... and that is goodness for sure

There may be something here but the foreground and right 40% make the something hard for me to appreciate.

Looks like it might have been a hunter’s tree stand a long time ago.
