That was my point. A big beef here is, "I don't want to pay for stuff I don't use." The whole CC bundle is already $10/mo. How much lower would they expect Adobe to go with a la carte offerings?
I'm with you. I think the CC subscription is the best value in photography. But if someone is philosophically opposed to the subscription model, they'll need to find a different vendor.
I think Lightroom is a fine product, but I just didn't like the price increase that happened in my particular case when they went to a subscription model. If I was a Photoshop user, or would make use of some of the other features that come with the subscription, then I would have bought into Adobe's model, as the pricing is quite good for those who use those features. In my case, though, the change over basically resulted in a four-fold price increase based on how I was using the product and when I had been upgrading. While I certainly could afford their product, I didn't feel it was worth that price increase, and when that happens with anything I look for alternatives. Fortunately, I was able to find another product that met my needs both in functionality and pricing.
I'm sure that Adobe doesn't miss the paltry amount of money I would spend with them, and their subscription model works for them as a business, so things worked out best for everyone.
