My summary of the explanations in the manual: the auto setting will almost never be optimal, but it will seldom be far off. Choosing case X will be better in certain situation, but worse in others. I’m not smart enough to second guess the camera.

Like I mentioned before, I've tried all the different cases, and really feel that the auto setting does a pretty decent job. I'll prolly change my mind next week.:lol:
