I always try to include clouds in my flight shots. Obviously that doesn't happen all that often. But on a cloudy day, you can bet I'll be out there shooting pictures of any birds that are flying.:-) With a clear blue sky, I often like to use the gradient tool in Photoshop to create a more realistic looking sky (darker on top and lighter on the bottom). As far as wood ducks are concerned, they commonly inhabit areas along the rivers. If you have rivers in you area, be sure to check them out from time to time. Also public parks very often have wood ducks frequenting them.
