Thank you Mike, I'd just shut off the camera, unscrewed the lens cover and bedded the 90D when this lovely raptor appeared out of nowhere. Somehow, I managed to undo all that and fire off a few frames before the bird decided to move on!

My regular spring/summer backyard visitors departed about 10 days ago but migrant Ruby-throated Hummingbirds are still passing through.

Nice shots, havelock! However, checkout your second shot, and you'll notice under the oystercatchers neck, an area that does not show the bird's color. Instead, the background color comes thru. I know that was not intended.
