Jun 03, 2023 20:58 | #10458 I managed to capture a few hummingbirds today. I'm afraid I intend on inflicting them upon you all! (But I promise only in two photos at a time) I would love to have the cropping power of an A1 or 7RV, but the A9 paired with the 200-600 manages to pull through. (These were cropped to 11x14 in. at 301dpi before being resized for the web) Image hosted by forum (1212773) © Pax2You [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Jun 04, 2023 14:18 | #10466 Here are another couple. The male Ruby Throated I thought looked better with it's wings up. This female left me in a conundrum as far as which photo I favor. Lame-Duck I have indeed had pine nuts ![]() More info | Jun 04, 2023 15:54 | #10468 nardes wrote in post #19526302 ![]() The Wedge-tailed Eagle is Australia's largest living bird of prey and one of the largest eagles in the world. The Wedge-tailed Eagle has long wings (wingspan 2.3 m), a characteristic long, wedge-shaped tail, and legs that are feathered all the way to the base of the toes. The bill is pale pink to cream, the eye brown to dark brown, and the feet off-white. Young Wedge-tailed Eagles are mid brown in colour with reddish-brown heads and wings. They become progressively blacker for at least the first ten years of their lives; adults are mostly dark blackish-brown. The only difference in plumage between the sexes is that a female adult is generally slightly paler than her mate. Females (4.2 kg - 5.3 kg) are also larger and heavier than males (3.2 kg up to 4.0 kg). This was taken at the Birds of Prey Show at O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat. ![]() Cheers Dennis Definitely a magnificent looking eagle, Dennis. Outstanding capture, and thank you for the descriptive information on the Wedge-tailed Eagle. What a terrific capture of the Little Egret in flight, Pippan! Very appealing shot. LD, or Mike

I'm always trying to get shots of swallows, but I'm rarely successful. Thanks so much Mike, I'm always trying for swallows too and find them more tricky than the swifts as they're even more erratic and slightly smaller. cheers!
