Light is everything. I've been to the Spreewald Biosphere Reserve southeast of Berlin (Germany) twice. But always the light was too bad to photograph.
At the end of November a sunny day announced itself in the floodplain and moor landscape. In the Spreewald there are no roads and no cars. Everything has to be transported by small barges.
From the small town of Lübbenau, our barge glided through the canals. We were amazed at how quiet a landscape can be. The pressure of background noise falls off you, nothing but silence.
While the boatman drives the barge through the canals, trees, bushes and meadows glide by. And the sun bathed the Spreewald in brilliant autumn light.
