Barnard 33 the Horshead Nebula

Along with NGC 2024, the Flame Nebula
Imaging in the backyard (Bortle 8) during a 43% illuminated moon.
This is 21 x 10-minute exposures. 210 minutes or 3 hrs 30min. total integration time.

Explore Scientific ED152 CF APO, iOptron CEM70EC, ZWO2600mmPro - cooled to -10°, Chroma 3nm Ha filter.
The ambient temperature started at 44°f and dropped to 33°f during the capture.
Captured with NINA and processed with PixInsight.

Very nice. The horsehead is one of my favorites. I remember being really amazed when I found out how big it really is. As a kid I imagined it being the size of a big star or so or maybe a solar system.


Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

This is with 5hrs20mins of 10min subs stacked. Getting much cleaner and more faint, wispy details popping through.
