Got an email from B&H this morning:

"Just announced is the Canon EOS R5, Mirrorless Cinema Camera, a compact, hybrid camera straddling the cine and photo worlds. Ideal for journalists, event photographers, editorial videographers, and other multimedia imagemakers, the R5 C is built for those who routinely capture both stills and video over the course of their workday. This RF-mount camera combines the full-frame 45MP sensor, AF capabilities, and speed of the standard EOS R5 along with the 12-bit Cinema RAW Light format, 8K 60p recording, a built-in cooling fan for unlimited recording lengths, and additional advanced video features of the EOS Cinema line. And, with Photo/Video mode switching, the camera’s menu system and operational functions change depending on the medium in which you’re working."

There have been rumors that it will have more robust cooling to allow no heat issues with 8K. So an actual physical difference along with the video capabilities.

And here's the official Canon video confirming the FAN that some laughed about :)

It makes one immediately wonder about how much/little impact on video recording time is effected by increased battery consumption...i.e. does it need higher total battery capacity, to offset the current draw of a fan? Supported battery is LP-6NH, same as R5.
