I want to get some pics of Birds as they are coming towards our feeders
My plan is to mount the camera on a tripod and fire it using a Pocket Wizard
Using a DoF table as an example with the settings, with a focal length of 75mm and an aperture of F10 and the distance from camera to the feeder being 20 ft my nearest in focus point would be just over 15 feet away.
My total depth of field would be approx 14 feet
Thats based on the camera being parallel to the ground and center of lens being on the same axis point as the feeder (or close to it)
As the birds are coming downward from the trees I would like to know how depth of field works in a vertical plane
Ex: if the bird coming in is within my 14 feet of depth of field on a horiz plane how high is the DoF?
Assuming DoF is measured at a radius for vertical is the datum point for vertical depth of field at the camera or at the start of the DoF.
Hope this makes sense. Thxs
