Three Oaks is about 5 miles East of New Buffalo, on US 12.
It's early claim to fame was the Warren Featherbone factory.
The movie Prancer was filmed in Three Oaks.

I looked up where Three Oaks is on the map. A couple of times several years ago we drove along Red Arrow Highway and found several antique stores that were fun to go in.

Never heard of the Warren Featherbone Factory.

Never heard of the movie Prancer. What do you know about this movie and it's sequel??? I found them on Amazon....

Never heard of a lot of things in my life!!!

Thank you for the absolution. Will drink three cups of coffee in penance.

Very interesting series
The carriages in that top photo is odd.
The wheels look separate from the bodies. Well, on the one at rear.

The two of that old building on street corner shows progression from gas to electric lighting.

Are these houses https://photography-on-the.net …hp?p=19337992&i=i98177518 the same but with roof remodelled?
They're very similar in looks.
The ground has been built up at the house. Same looking footpath steps onto street.

Did you notice there are no horses in front of each carriage? (as well as I can tell)??
I am guessing the axle to the wheels really are attached to the carriage, but hard to see.

The Chicago World's Fair was in 1893 introducing electricity, correct?

The two houses... the 1st house is shorter than the 2nd house. The first house has 2 steps to the sidewalk, the 2nd house has 5 steps to the sidewalk..
I am assuming they are different houses. Yes they do look similar. I do not remember ever seeing these homes in Albion, but then I am sure I was not on every street in Albion either.

Teach me something Richard please. The LINK you provided to the two homes. When I clicked on your link, it took me to the 2nd home in that post, not to the top of that post. How do you do that??

Yes I'd noticed no horses
Probably compression in the taking of the photo
Certainly a lot of carriages, but if they'd been T Fords etc then they too would be lined up like that.

Yes looking at that house photo I see now it's longer on right as we look in.

Re the link
If you click and hold on very top right of any image you'll get a prompt.
Just play with that and you'll find options. I chose copy link.

It looks like there may be a horse at the front of the seven carriages lined up to the left of the telephone pole.
It's hard to tell because of the telephone pole.

It appears that the carriages are connected to each other and are being pulled by a single set of horses. Maybe this is how they transported them to dealers in that era without having to use a set of horses for each carriage.

I am thinking this is the white house that Harry and his wife lived in before they moved to the brick house. We have no idea who the girl is sadly.

Albion had a lot of houses in the same style. Different sizes but a porch at one front corner with columns. Maybe half the town used the same architect or builder?

Those old houses with the big front porches and gingerbread trim have a real appeal.
But that gingerbread could be a pain the keep looking good.
