Awesome. Are any of these in more than one piece, or are they just cracked?

Scan 008-b looks like an interurban trolley line. Also some washed out track at the bottom of the hill, on the left.
Scan 010-b looks like there was quite a flood.

There are NO GLASS PLATES CRACKED. What you are seeing is the film negative peeling away from the glass plate.

To me it looks like some dirt from the hill as fallen down onto the track.

If you look at the tracks it appears to have nothing supporting it in places, where the rubble has fallen across the tracks off the cutting
Looks odd.
The sleepers cast a shadow, but where has all the material gone?

Here is an example of what the negative peeling away from the glass looks like:

What do you mean by: "The sleepers cast a shadow" and what are you referring to by "where has all the material gone?"

You are talking above my rail road knowledge there Richard sorry to say!!

If the negative material isn't brittle, you might consider sandwiching the negative material
between two pieces of glass.
Using tape around the edges would cause you to loose some of the picture,
but that would be better than a total loss.

This is an interesting photo. I notice the tree have wooden guards around them to protect from cattle. There is also a bridge or pathway leading out to the left of the photo. I know there are passenger cars in this photo but I bet livestock were loaded or unloaded at this station perhaps on other trains. These last photos you posted are such a interesting look at what life was like so many years ago. The deeper you look the more you find in these images. So cool!
