He sure used a variety on manufacturers plates.
They all seemed to work.

Yes it appears they did! ;-)a

I find the old boxes & literature just as fascinating as the photos. Thanks.

Thank you Pigpen, I am glad you enjoyed seeing the boxes

Here is what the camera actually looks like when tilted. It took me a few minutes to actually figure out how to get it done!

It has been a few years since I had the tripod out, I had forgotten just how short that thing is!! From floor to appx center of lens is only 38 inches!! Ya gotta lean down pretty low to look thru the back of camera with a black sheet over your head!

Here is the leather case that came with the camera.

When I first got camera outfit 45+ years ago it took me a while to figure out how to open the camera. It is the circle on the top of the camera case, press on that to open the camera.

Here is something I had totally forgot I had. This is made by Burke & James Manufactures of Chicago, IL. This is called The Ideal Photo Optical Outfit consisting of 6 filters - Wide Angle Lens - Copying Lens - Ray Filter - Portrait Lens - Telephoto Lens - last one is Duplicator

He should have used the telephoto to get a good close up of the Moon!! (just kidding)

The Ray Filter has a mild yellow tint to it.

These filters do fit over the lens of my camera and hold quite nicely!

Here is a single picture of the Duplicator. I wish I knew what this was supposed to do! Duplicate what?

When I buy filters they don't come in such beautiful packaging!

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

Thanks for all the extras. Great to see a more complete picture.

On a side note. That beautiful leather is as dry as chips as we say here.
It needs some form of leather dressing to put a bit of 'moisture' back into it.
I wouldn't rush it, but find out more, how from someone that knows. A museum?

Showing you items besides glass negatives is the extra? Be careful what you ask for I will have to charge more for the extra stuff!! (JK!)

If I put the right stuff on the worn out leather, will it look like brand spankin new?? LOL LOL

Whoops. Well don't put the price up too much :-P

Re the leather, and all jokes aside my thoughts were on preventing it from further deterioration as far as possible, so it doesn't get to that unmentionables Pippan is referring to :-)
It will only get worse as time goes. Especially with all this extra exposure :p

The duplicator is used to make a double exposure, so a person can appear twice in the image as if they were duplicated. Set the camera on a tripod with the duplicator in place, put a person in the image on the side with the duplicator, and take an image. Move the person to the other side within the image field of view, rotate the duplicator 180 degrees, and expose again. When developed, the person will be in the image twice. I think people will use photoshop to stack layers to do something similar.

I was incorrect in what I told you above (in RED). Clicking on the picture does not work.

What you need to do is click on the FILENAME of each picture (under picture) you want to enlarge in this case "Burke & James Manual"

Click on the name once will take you to my Flickr page for this picture.

Once you are at Flickr showing my picture NOW CLICK on the IMAGE and it will then enlarge for you to be able to see it better, or in this case be able to better read the manual.

Well DUH! Charles read the directions yourself big dummy!!

To make a long story short you put the Duplicator on splitting the image on one side, take a picture, do NOT take the negative out of the camera, turn the Duplicator around 180° now take a second picture exposing the 2nd half of the negative.

The manual instructions say a lot more on how this is done on page 4

I've an old (very) photo of my mother's graduation at Uni.
The same person appears at both sides of the photo.
He obviously ran around the back and seated himself for the completed photo.

my Dad tells me that school photos used to be done on a camera that "scanned" left to right - the blokes on the end would often run around the back & appear at both ends of the photo.

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:
