Not a practical problem this time, just something strange.

.

I find that very interesting. . I would love to know all of the little details that result in such a thing happening. . Whenever there is a glitch here on POTN, or anywhere else, I always want to know exactly why it happened.

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

I tend in that direction, and I often remind myself not to follow each possible lead into unknown causes. It's necessary to set aside time to eat and sleep.

I see no problem in heads ups.

Those are likes to two different posts:

https://photography-on-the.net …showthread.php?p=19335084 (only RDWP like)
https://photography-on-the.net …showthread.php?p=19335086 (5 likes)

RDWP also liked https://photography-on-the.net …showthread.php?p=19335086 and there is another heads up about it.

I can see your heads up history and those are correct there.

I checked just now by using the links in the Heads Ups again. You're right, they go to different posts now, but last night, when they were new, they went to the same post. -?

After the heads up is created, the data is not changed, so the history is the same as what you see first time. There is no code to alter that. I'm not saying you did not see it, it is just not possible :)

Sometimes when you follow a Heads up, it will land in an ambiguous spot. Maybe that is what happened here.

I used the links in those Heads Ups several times to test them because what happened the first time was so strange. I'll post again if I see any more impossible things–other than, of course, those pesky green ones that flex their iridescent scales and wave their tentacles around.

Thanks for your effort to rescue my reputation. I've never had a Heads Up land off course before. Sometimes, though, a link at New Posts goes to a spot partway between consecutive posts. This has occurred when a post farther up the page was deleted. Those links have never jumped to the wrong thread. I also find, just recently, that once in a while a link at New Posts will go to the wrong place by one or a few posts.
