CIPA just released its numbers for dSLR and Mirrorless camera volume for full year of 2021. Unfortunately that breakdown is not available in graph form, so I put together an Excel compilation of CIPA reports from 2021 v 2018 v 2015 v 2012 to see how unit volumes compared.
dSLR volumes continue to decline. But Mirrorless is not seeming to REPLACE those cameras, as the mirrorless volume still does not match the Unit count said to have peaked in 2012 (although the numbers seem to indicate a relative peak for mirrorless in 2018). So the market softness continues, and dSLR volume is not being replaced with the mirrorless camera thus far.
This CIPA graph show the aggregate digital ILC (interchangeable lens camera) volume from 1999 -2019
