I knew the day would come. A long yet sad in a way coming. For sale my precious 400mm DOII. It was my mainstay lens for wildlife when shooting Canon. I’m the original owner. I bought the lens from B&H in 2017.
It’s actually been in it’s original case and boxed since 2019. You may ask “why?”. The answer is simple. I was approached in 2017 by a major camera company to exclusively shoot their gear in 2017/18. I’ve continued using that other gear until now, and with new bodies coming out, that trend will continue as I am in negotiations to become their ambassador.
The lens is in primo shape. there is some minor scrapes where the lens mated with the 1Dx MkII body. Never dropped. I’m an African wildlife photographer so it de see some dust, but during the period of use, I had Canon CPS clean after each trip. It takes the 1.4x TC with amazing sharpness, The 2x TC was sharp on the 1DxMKII, but good technique delivers best images.
Included the lens hood, carry strap (never opened packaging), original storage case, the original Canon shipping cardboard box, warranty card, digital camo Lens Coat, original lens foot as well as RRS model with Arca-Swiss base. The lens wore a Lens Coat for about half of the time. I really only used part of Coat as I liked easy access to buttons at base.
Only willing to sell within the continental U.S. as I don't know much about international shipping or payment. Asking price is $4000 USD. I pay insured FedEx shipping and the buyer suffers the PayPal fee. I live in Allentown, PA and if you can pick up in person, you can deduct $300 from the selling price.
