I had an old Surface 1 Pro with a shattered screen sitting in the corner of my office that I wanted to dispose of, but couldn't even boot it up to wipe the drive due to the screen being destroyed.
After removing a ton of screws I managed to extract the 256GB mSATA SSD, and thought it would be a shame to throw it out if it's still in good shape.
I found an inexpensive mSATA to usb enclosure on Amazon for $20 CAD, and after taking a total of 1 minute to install the drive I was happy to see that it works fine! Now the only thing I need to do is reformat it

$20 CAD for a 256GB SSD usb drive, even if it ends up being a bit slow, is hard to beat.
