I don't think Farmer Ted is actually trying to sell a 6 D to you ... heck, I don't even think he has a Canon 6D. . He was just making a suggestion, that a Canon 6D would be a good body to consider if you want a full frame camera for just $500. . And I agree with him - a 6D would be an excellent full frame camera in the "starter camera" category. . Great image quality, but very few bells or whistles, so that the price stays down in that ultra-affordable range. .

FarmerTed1971 fondling the 5D4 More info | Correct. I used to have a 6D and it was an excellent camera. If I had the $500 dollar budget for a FF I wouldn't hesitate buying another one. It's not the quickest with the autofocus but on a tripod it really shines. Getting better at this - Fuji X-t5 & X-t3 - 16 1.4 - 35/50/90 f2 - 50-140 - flickr

The better overall value is the 6D, it still holds its own even against the 5d4 iq-wise in many situations. The 5d2 is inferior to the 5d4. Past Equipment | My Personal Gallery

That isn’t really true, it used to be back in 2002-2012. Since then the APSC has really improved in IQ due to both sensor design changes and the firmware. Past Equipment | My Personal Gallery

FarmerTed1971 fondling the 5D4 More info | Not really. It's older. The 5d3 would be the pro version of the 6D. If you are shooting action and sports then the 5d series would be better than the 6D. The 6D has a very limited quantity of AF points and as I recall only the center point is a cross point spot. Getting better at this - Fuji X-t5 & X-t3 - 16 1.4 - 35/50/90 f2 - 50-140 - flickr

The 5d2 is inferior to the 5d4. I personally would think the 6D and the 5D III might be closer they were both released about the same time. I personally chose a 5D II over a 6D and used it until last Spring. The main reason I choose the 5D II was the controls, the camera felt more like the XXD cameras I had used since 2003. The 6D size and controls felt more like a xxxD cameras. I took many great paid shoots with the 5D II.
