I have been looking for a Nikon D500 for sometime but they are very hard to find here in Canada. I came across one for sale at B&H Photo and was wondering if anyone on this forum who may live in Canada and purchased equipment from this business. One other thing is it better to pay the duty ahead of time as they give you this option, not sure if it really matters or not. Thanks for any input.

* The Imported note as far as they said is due to it being from China, not sure if it is a real actual Nikon made body or not? No warrant of course in Canada but could this be repaired at my coast in Canada at Nikon if ever needed. See link for unit I considering:

Be certain that you can get an imported camera repaired by the official Nikon distributor in Canada...in USA, Nikon USA will not touch a camera (it does not matter that you are willing to pay for the repairs!) that is not officially imported by them...they track all serial number that they have imported from Japan to US.

"Gray Market Warning
Nikon products that are imported and sold by anyone other than Nikon Inc. USA are considered Gray Market products. These often are genuine Nikon products that were intended for other countries; therefore, they may not meet Nikon’s specifications for US products or perform as expected, and they are not covered by a Nikon USA warranty or eligible for Nikon USA repair service."

[edit]
Nikon Canada seems to be not quite so inflexible

"Nikon Canada Inc. and Nikon Authorized Dealers will not provide warranty service on Grey Market products. If you suspect you may have purchased a Grey Market Nikon product, please contact the seller or importer for warranty and service information as well as software updates and downloads. Refer to the seller or the warranty cards included with your product for service contact information."

Thanks for this, really important to know. Not much point in buying a camera at full price and you can never get it fixed. Back to looking for a used body, they have stopped manufacturing the D500. I do bird photography and the photos I have looked at on various sites are excellent for sure and the best DX body for this type of photography currently. Not convinced yet if the Z series is an option but as seem with a larger lense IE: FTZ Adapter and AF-S lenses to be front heavy and tricky to shoot handheld.

I decided after reading reviews; looking at photos taken & watching videos to stay with DX for now and have ordered a new D7500 in Canada. I will then send my D7200 in for repair and keep it as a backup body.

BH is only selling certain camera brands to Canada, if new. Used - any.
They have very good payment calculation showing how much it will cost.
Just be careful to double check, it seems overcharging for some cameras on taxes.
They response to messages.
