I recently went to the Neosho River below the Pensacola Dam on NE Oklahoma's Grand Lake. This is usually a hotspot for Eagles who feed on the stunned fish coming through the floodgates - but not this time. Very few Eagles around, but the Blue Herons were VERY active. This one studied the river carefully from this branch before springing into action - and a mouthful of Crappie.
