I just recently picked up a Smugmug account to give me some badly needed online storage. I've noticed that all of my photos that have been taken with a Canon 100-400 L IS II are actually listed as having been taken with a Tamron 100-400. Does anyone know how to correct this? Thanks in advance.

Good idea. . SmugMug help is quite responsive, and I usually get a reply within a few hours if I email them on a business day.

If the OP does email SmugMug, it would be helpful if he/she would post their response here in this thread, so that we can see exactly what SmugMug has to say about this issue, in their own words.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

I think Smugmug is just listing EXIF info that's already in the image. Have you checked the data in the original JPEG to see if it lists Canon 100-400 L? If you have an older Canon camera, it may not have the firmware for Canon 100-400 L mk II, and therefore saw it as a 3rd party lens. If the JPEG is listing Tamron 100-400, then you'll have to edit it yourself to change to Canon 100-400 L IS II.

Canon 5D mk IV
EF 135mm 2.0L, EF 70-200mm 2.8L IS II, EF 24-70 2.8L II, EF 50mm 1.4, EF 100mm 2.8L Macro, EF 16-35mm 4L IS, Sigma 150-600mm C, 580EX, 600EX-RT, MeFoto Globetrotter tripod, grips, Black Rapid RS-7, CAMS plate and strap system, Lowepro Flipside 500 AW, and a few other things...

I'm trying to contact them, but those are RAW photos taken 5 days ago with my R6. I dragged them from Lightroom to my Smugmug gallery. Lightroom shows the proper info: https://georgebrown.smugmug.com/Homer-March-1-2022/ (external link). Okay, I just found their email and d waiting for a reply. Thanks everyone.

Now I see that the incorrect data is only on the photos shot with the EF 2X III extender on the 100-400L IS II. The rest of the photos have the correct data.

Here's the response from Smugmug. Sounds like it's not only me and they're working on it..

Hi there,

I am sorry to hear about the lens information trouble with your upload. We have a known issue causing this and I have added your case here to the issue report. At this point I do not have a time estimate for the fix, sorry.
