Haven’t used my camera in probably 6months to a year. Finally got out this weekend and had some fun with it. Let me know what you think of these two shots I got!

My opinion- I don't see the subject. Is it the factory or the car? They are "competing" for the attention of my eye. Please try blurring the background.

The car body looks too close to the ground to be driven- I suppose it has some sort of lifting mechanism?

The tires on the car appear to be not straight but tilted outward at the bottom?

I like the concept, generally; in execution, I like the second one better. The angle on the first one just feels...awkward and doesn't really show off the lines of the car very well, to my eye.

Yes, the car is on airbag suspension so it can be raised and lowered at the touch of a button.

Correct, the rear wheels are tilted. It has negative camber in the rear to fit those wheels.

Seems like the wear on the tires would be really bad?

The shots are nice, but you might want to make the car a bigger element in the frame. As mentioned above the background competes with the car as a visual element.

This hasn't been really answered. It pretty much expresses my first thoughts. Why did you choose the factory (or farm) as the background for the car? What were you trying to say? To a viewer who knows nothing about the scene, they have nothing to do with each other. Maybe, for instance, one person owns both of them, and this picture shows that person's major belongings–but there could be any number of reasons that they belong together, none of which is obvious.

I'd like them better without the car. The factory looks like a good subject The car could also be a good subject, but in a setting where it isn't competing for attention with the factory, just some neutral background.

.
The factory or industrial buildings or whatever that all is is pretty interesting, and makes for good looking subject matter. . But the inclusion of the car seems to distract the viewer from the interesting industrial stuff. . I think if you just concentrated on photographing that factory or whatever it is, and did a separate shoot of the car at some other time and place, that might result in ever better photos of the factory.

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Of the 2 options, I like the first best. If I assume there is some connection between the vehicle and the factory, I would say it made sense to maintain the narrow aperture and keep both in relatively good focus. With that said, I can't think up any reasonable connection between an old factory and a lowered VW with rims and a body kit. In my head, it would have made more sense to use a city background or a winding backroad through the woods. Then again, I have seen pictures like this in car enthusiast magazines. In particular, I can remember seeing a red C7 Corvette parked on a gravel road in the country with a train track in the background. Made zero sense, but the car still looked amazing.

Like others have said, the idea is spot on, but the subject and the background compete too much. You might have been able to use a shallower dof to defocus the back and clarify the image. I would try the same idea again, but just clean up the image some. Its also a little heavy too... great attempt and idea. Just needs some refining... make the car the subject more yet still leverage the background. Simplify
