Dear Jeff, you sure got a great photo. I was specially curious, how would the lens perform on R7, because mine is R7 too.
And you proved it would perform excellent!
And could you please share the exif of this photo BTW.

I am trying to find it...

wow. That is even more interesting. How could you take such a great photo with f/11. I have the 800mm f/11, and it performs good only in bright light.

Taken with my R7, RF600

1/2000 f/11 ISO 4000 processed in Lightroom and AI Denoise. the day had plenty of light, was mid-afternoon

Little Kingfisher. These guys are only 4 or 5 inches high and really hard to get a decent shot of. This was an 80% crop using the RF 600mm F4 but still held up extremely well given all the atmospherics going on inbetween the subject and the sensor !. Shot over water in 35degrees c temp and humidity of 85% here in Darwin NT.

I'm incredibly excited as I just purchased an RF 600 F/4 from Greentoe. It's my first time purchasing through Greentoe but so far it's been a good experience. I'm hoping to have the lens sometime next week. Can't wait to finally have this lens.
Any recommendations on Lenscoat Neoprene versus 3M vinyl sheets from Mossy Oak Graphics for protection? I have the 3M on my RF 100-500 but am considering the Lenscoat for added protection.

Congratulations on your 600mm and hope to see some of your images soon :) I have lenscoat on my 600mm as does a photog mate of mine and we find the neoprene material of the lenscoat skin offers great lens protection/cushioning from knocks and bumps . FYI Ive knocked my lens many times when getting out of the car as I leave it uncovered on the back seat for quick access and things like my monopod , small stool etc have come into contact with it from time to time however neoprene has 100% stopped any lens barrel scratching scraping etc . Lens is as good as new even after the hard life Ive given it over last 12 months. The neoprene skin also a tight fit so the lens can be placed on rough surfaces etc and again 100% totally protected from any rubbing or scratching of the lens surface. Also great protection for light rain.

Cheers

Thank you! I'm looking forward to sharing here too. I've been debating the Lenscoat vs the Mossy Oak Camo Vinyl. I used the vinyl on my RF 100-500 and its been great. I actually ordered some for the 600 but you described some good scenarios to go with the neoprene!

This was taken on 2/28/23. I'm near Cincinnati, OH and we've not had many clear nights lately.
I'm really happy with this. I also had the RF 1.4x extender on too.

A pair of Pied Herons having a turf war. fogg dam - Northern Territory OZ . Before getting the r5 and rf600 f4 I wouldnt have had a chance in hell of getting a shot like this with my Dslr's :) Its almost a 100% crop which is absolutely amazing that the detail can hold up so well at such a huge crop. And thats shooting through atmospherics here in Darwin where the tropical humidity combined with the heat in the wet/monsoon season is horrific .

Cheers.
