PhotosGuy was a member here for about 16 years. A long time pro photographer, he wrote a some very good tutorials
and was a great contributor to this site. I believe he was a mod, too.

He's been absent for 2 years now. Any word about him?

When mods retire they often disappear from POTN altogether. Not sure why.

I hope you're right. He disappeared when the pandemic was ramping up.

Unfortunately, reading the expanded profile at the Lux site, it looks like a perfect match.

Good work, TeamSpeed.

Most likely he did pass away. So much of the information fits.

I liked his POTN image icon, the vintage camera. Also seen here...

I figured it all fit too, but was hoping otherwise. No wife or kids it seems (per the obit) to follow up and do a final validation on Facebook. He was involved in many things, from military, chemistry, entrepreneur and photographer, and local involvement...

Frank will be missed.

My dad worked with Frank, in the 70's, at Boulevard Photographic in Detroit MI. It was the largest automotive photography studio at the time. I'll have to let my dad know of his passing. R.I.P. Frank.

He was big in the Detroit car scene as well. Here is a book of his.

One of my first transactions on POTN back in 2007 was with Frank. He was a huge wealth of knowledge and would never hesitate to offer tips/tricks to make your photos better. He surely will be missed!

Aw man, wasn't expecting the thread to end like this. I hope the info is wrong but sure doesn't look like it. RIP Frank.

I didn't cross paths much with Frank if at all, but I remember he was helpful in giving professional-quality information to others.

The photo at the site TeamSpeed linked to resembles headshots taken for ID when a patient enters a care home. It's very plain, and he looks unwell.

That was indeed a less than ideal photo, it's too bad that the family didn't have a better photo of Frank. :(

I have been a bit more aware to let my family take pictures of me (hate getting my picture taken) so that they have something they can use in the future. After a few family funerals, it is has become an awareness of mine.

He was always a font of knowledge, generously sharing tips and tricks on how to get the most out of your photos and how to deal with tricky situations.

RIP, Frank!

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.
