[HELP] Gimp Eraser Tool Not Working On Windows 10 Notebook

Hey folks. I usually use Gimp to edit photos on my Windows 10 Notebook. However, since a few days, the Gimp Eraser tool has not been working. If I select the tool, nothing happens. Can anyone help me solve this problem?

You were kind enough to help me, but a friend sent me a similar article https://bottobotto.com​/gimp-eraser-not-working/ (external link), and I was able to solve the problem. All I had to do was add an Alpha Channel to the layer, and now the eraser tool is working fine.
