I believe this is a Black-winged Stilt! I almost didn’t recognise him with most of his legs under water. What a great find, DP.

Yes it is! It does always amaze me just how far some birds routinely travel throughout just one year let alone over the whole long life of some gulls.

Yeah, some birds do get around, that’s for sure.

They certainly are similar to our Forest Raven albeit a smaller beak

Thanks Levina, the peanut thief fills up and flies 30 or 40m into the field and buries the nuts. Comes straight back and does the same again and again and again util all the nuts are lost forever! There are some happy mice out in the field I would think :lol:
