Oh god, not that scene!! Yeah, Benni was bad, but didn’t deserve THAT ending!

The truth is I dislike bugs. It’s the reason I have the macro forum hidden. I hate tiny creepy thingies crawling around and I hate it even more when they are frame filling HUGE. Hence the Psycho avatar as that is me seeing a bug! Actually Bug Killer would have been a better title as I really don’t want to attract bugs! I mean, ATTRACT bugs?!

 :p:-D

And I agree, bad weather isn’t bad for bird photography. Just no fun for the bird photographer. :-P

No rain but this kestrel had trouble keeping his balance against the wind:

No rain, but good pics nonetheless! Looks like you were really close. In the second shot he seems to look at you and doesn’t fly off. I think the kestrels here are a different breed: they fly off as soon as they see you.

I've never been closer(and don't forget 700mm and cropped(to about 4200 pix long side)) and usually I only see them flying. I don't know if this one registered me at all, I was in my car and it was doing everything it could to stay on it's branch. It doesn't show(should have taken video) but it was swaying from left to right outside the frame.

Yeah, me too, only in flight. And the one or two I saw perched took off the moment they saw me.

Swaying on a branch, yeah. Makes me think of Reed Buntings as they prefer to sit on top of a tree on a mere twig so they’re constantly swaying in the slightest breeze.
