Hmm, you've got a point there, though buzzards aren't just eating the brains, zombie birds perhaps?

This one not a vegan  if you click through to flickr it should work

The image that gave me the most pleasure this weekend! She's back!! :-D

There's some pretty diabolical stuff mixed in there, it's not so easy to get video as I though it might be  I'll see if I can sort some of the more acceptable stuff for viewing :)

Yup! :-D The box is about 30m into the woods beside our pond and I walk by there every morning with the dogs, my wife thinks I'm mad because I always say good morning to the owl if she's there. She's been absent for 3 months or so, I was wondering if she was coming back, so yay! I think that 2 years ago she lost her mate halfway through breeding. Only 1 of the chicks that year made it out the box, I assume the other starved as it was dead in the box when I checked later in the year. No chicks at all last year after a noticeable absence of male calls in the previous autumn. This autumn she was calling and calling with no reply and then disappeared. A month ago or so and for a week or two there were at least four males about calling and she was nowhere to be heard or seen. Well now she's back, hopefully hooked up and will be a bit more successful this year. These from 2 years ago

A few more with the 1.4. The duck came out of nowhere and I only had a few seconds. AF is insane on the R7. Still working on trying to get one to fly towards me. :-)

Nice job capturing the ducks in flight.

I think the Magpie turned out well. Birds in shadow with a bright sky behind them are always difficult. But it's an interesting bird, so I was more inclined to enjoy it than pixel peep.

Thanks very much. I checked it out the map. For me that would be a a bit of expedition. Not a day trip. I won't have time this year but it's on my list for next year. My wife would love going up there. Not far from Porto which was a wonderful city. Got some nice B&W shots there. We want to go back there one day so maybe round trip.

This is the place the couple told me about. Definitely going to check this out when out friends leave. A good hike for my wide and me.

Not like the mountains in the NorthEast of Portugal but it looks nice. You need to plan a trip like that. I've fished for over 50 years of my life. It's good to know the spot but it really helps to know the spot on the spot. :-)

That's what I'm hoping for too, although being 30m in there will be a lot of growth before then and now she's back I won't go anywhere nearer to keep the view clear so we get what we get! :)

Don’t I know it, Sid. I’ve tried shooting some footage and it’s hard. I just can’t seem to hold the darn camera still!

Great story, Sid. I do hope the males will come calling again! If and when they do, we will have the best seats in the house, seeing events unfold through your images!

Nice one, Sid!
They really are thieves and I caught one in the act once. I have shots of it too. I will post them later.
