Sorry for the quality of this shot, very poor resolution due to heavy crop but I found it fascinating to watch these two raptors engaging in areal combat over a good 15 minutes or so. The smaller raptor is a Booted Eagle and the larger raptor I believe is a common Buzzard but I'm not sure.

Let's hope in a few weeks you get a lot more activity when they are feeding the young. Just work hard for a few weeks and than take time off:lol:
These are very nice!

Thanks Patrick :) Even when feeding young they are very irregular, leaving the nest for hours or sometimes even days. Swift chicks are remarkable in that they can slow themselves down to be able to survive for extended periods with no food as their parents sometimes have to follow the good weather to find food, the next regular chances will come when the birds looking for future nest sites and the present birds form the largest screaming parties towards the end of the season.

Ha! I just gave an update in the thread I started about my Mac problems just now. Because it doesn't work after all. I also now know why colours look so weird.

I need a new Mac.

Oh dear!

That is one popular nest! Great series of shots, Sid. Swifts look so much better with greens in the background!

Thanks Levina, the new pair did keep on checking where the starlings were and as soon as they left.......

The greens are nice but strangely I like some of the ones with buildings as backgrounds too, my front door, a bedroom window, roofs and walls.......

Ah, for me culling in DPP is fast(switching image and one click to 100% zoom is instant), just the processing is slow. Did you set NR/sharpening to zero in preferences? Using camera settings slows it down considerably.

Yes. I always have NR and sharpening turned off, in Lightroom as well, as I like to do that selectively.

Hanging out with mom and dad ;-)a

I really like that first shot with the whole family.

You've been busy, Jan. All really nice shots!
