Thanks Levina, none of the wild things seem to like polecat to eat very much, even the foxes turn their noses up at it, which is why, I think, that it's taken a week or so to get to this stripped a point. I picked one up off the road a couple of years ago and left it out as usual and nothing touched it at all, it just sort of dissolved into the ground over a couple of months. The birds don't seem to like squirrel either but the foxes have them no problem.

Aren’t they all picky buggers!

I wonder what causes them to dislike polecats and squirrels.

I was having feral cat problem and thought it a waste to bury them so left in middle of paddock expecting the ravens to have a party as they do when there's a road kill possum.
They completely ignored the cats

I wish, I can hear and see them sometimes from the garden but only high in the sky, they don't hunt in the city.
