The water in the second pic? My stomach remembers just how that feels… Miranda1 wrote in post #19433208 Unfortunately not as common as they once were, approx 120 breeding pairs in Portugal. I use to see them quite a bit during the summer months up in our part of Portugal but they are becoming rarer to see. They breed in the canyons of the Douro river ( a photo I posted earlier in the thread ) and migrate to Africa for the winter. Bird numbers are in decline the world round. It’s very sad. That’s a wall hanger for sure! Thanks so much Levina, I've been lucky enough to get so many nice shots of this bird it's going to be difficult for me to choose just 1 for the wall. cheers!

They are an awesome bird to be sure, I've seen an adult female in the locality a few times and caught it just failing to catch a jackdaw in mid air, a couple of crows joined in and chased the goshawk off, all very distant of course! Our hen muncher may be this ones offspring. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() https://flic.kr/p/2nPC2VD https://flic.kr/p/2nPDBUw Great to see the action. It always amazes me when I see birds mob or chase off a raptor.

The pheasant is handsome as ever. And I like the robin a lot. There’s a bit of a rim light around him. I think it’s a lovely pic. Me too, love the Robin pic.
