i find you can narrow it down by the adult birds in the immediate area.

Thanks, about 3.5 meter(and 700mm on FF helps). I've got a little hide(camouflage tent) in the garden.

Juvenile herring gull would be my guess, tricky in that sort of light to see true colours.

Yes this was taken in the same location. I was fortunate to photograph 3 different Vulture species in the same location, Egyptian, Griffon and Eurasian Black vultures.

Sid, love the shots! These birds are so beautiful! I missed an opportunity to capture a shot of one this summer from very close proximity but it flew off before I could get a shot:cry:. We have Belted Kingfishers here in my area but they plumage isn't as striking as the European Kingfisher.
