As others said about the view they present to the camera is very well done. I'm curious. I assume the palest one is juvenile. The extreme left - is that moulting? Or a developing junior. I haven't seen changes in ours during the year, but have seen a couple of juveniles that lobbed up last year and were pale with none of their adult colours. Thanks Richard, both of the tatty ones are this years juveniles, when the adults moult they replace coloured feather with the same thing so you wouldn't see the pale juvenile feathers underneath. cheers!

I was going to comment on the markings - they all seem to have 'convict' markings - probably out on probation. The Blackbirds are friendlier and not so skittish. We have a pair that can be handfed - although they are a little bit nervous. Convict markings

But they were just too far away to get detailed shots of them. These are some heavy crops from the R5 files with the RF 800mm f11 lens. Cropping in any further just was no real option. And the tree they were in was on a some island in a pond, so no option to move in further towards them. We just have to deal with what we can get IMAGE LINK: https://photos.smugmug.com …50218_DxO-X3.jpg&lb=1&s=A IMAGE LINK: https://photos.smugmug.com …50211_DxO-X3.jpg&lb=1&s=A
