Considering going mirrorless, mainly because I would love to use some old MF glass, but my vision isn’t good enough to do so with an optical viewfinder and I would greatly appreciate the assistance of the EVF (focus peaking, etc).
That being said, the EVF is also the thing that has me hesitant to leave my DSLR… I tried the A6000 and several M4/3 cameras years ago and wasn’t ever a fan of the EVF. I know Sony set the stage for mirrorless FF and Canon took their time, but really set the stage on fire with their mirrorless FF, so I’m assuming these EVFs will blow away the primitive ones I’ve used.
I’m considering the Canon RP or Sony A7II. Trying to weigh pros and cons, but due to the age difference, there aren’t many comparisons that I’ve found. I prefer actual comparisons in RL use vs specs comparisons.
I would also like to compare differences with adapted EF/EFS lenses, both Canon and third-party.
The Sony has IBIS, which is the main point pushing me that direction…. But I love Canon colors SOOC, so that’s got me leaning towards the RP. Im trying to stay under $1000… and will consider any other recommendations as well that can be found under that price point.
