On the R7 the only dial that can be configured to adjust ISO is the Lens Control Dial, a far more awkward scenario.

Above is IMO--- Feel free to disagree. ;-)a

My R7 is in route, so I have been reading the manual. Page 883 of online manual says you can set ISO to Quick Control Dial OR Lens Control Dial.

I had hoped that I got in fast enough that I actually had an R7 on the way,. Unlike many of you, my order went through 100%,. and it said it would be here in three days.

Now however, when I log in it says it's backordered. Ah well. I've had luck with Canon USA website in the past, sometimes they get things in stock first. But obviously, this time it's all just hooey.

I have a confession to make. Although Canon's USA site was doing weird things, I let my emotions get the best of me. I want the R7 so bad that I ordered
the R7 lens kit from Canon USA last night. Here's how it went...

R7 product page says In Stock.

Shopping cart shows In Stock

After entering my address/credit card number and clicking the Buy button it says Backordered

The Canon USA site doesn't have a provision for canceling an online order. So I have to call them on Monday.
If I'm told that I can expect the camera kit in a reasonable amount of time, then I'll keep the order. Otherwise I cancel.

Another weird thing, I never received an email confirmation from Canon. Strange.

So if you want to order the R7 from Canon USA, I suggest you call and verify it is in stock.

Don't make the mistake I did.

When you see my photos you'll know that I'm not.

I called yesterday afternoon and the rep actually told me that despite saying its in stock, they don't have any and apologized. And yeah, no email confirmation is definitely not right. When I order online from them I always get an email immediately after.

The whole button layout looks weird to me. Its going to take some getting used to. Not sure why Canon chose this alien layout.

Levina , is strange but I can feel it faster than my 5dmkiv, the compensation wheel is better than the series 1, the handling is fast and I only have it for one day, I hope you will think the same. All these opinions, without actually holding them in your hand, are just an illusion

Thanks! Mine is already set to EV, a bit to award to change with a long lens while holding the shutter button halfway.

You are right of course, Grzegorz. All I have is pictures but just because it doesn’t look familiar, doesn’t mean it can’t work well.

I had this happen on my order for the EF to RF adaptor. In my experience if you did not get confirmation you don't have a valid order. Which I didn't discover until after the day I should have received it (I paid extra for quick shipping so I knew one it should have arrived). I was pissed since I had my R6 body but no way to put a lens on it.

Give them a call to sort this out now.

this is just a screenshot, such birds are not a challenge in the case of the R7.although they run 120km / h

Because the R7 functionally is positioned to be closer to the 'amateur oriented' 90D and T8i, than it is to the 'prosumer' 7DII ?!

Possibly. I never owned a 7DII. I only shot with 1D cameras. But yeah, that might be it.

I saw that, but it's gone now. Wonder why?

I'll call Canon USA tomorrow.

Quite true, but I have always used the Quick Control Dial to control it's default Aperture control, from my initial ELAN-7 through 10 DSLRS, and my current R5, so I guess it's ISO on the Lens Control dial for me.

first impression, the body is smaller than my 90D, I cannot get 3 fingers on the grip, the pinky hangs below. Also looking inside the battery compartment there are no contacts for a battery grip.

AF bird eye AF seems very good, a couple times it grabbed the background rather than the birds at the feeder, I have it set for full screen AF with Animal Eye AF

Good to hear this! I am hoping the R7 will not be too much larger than my M6 II so I can move away from the M system and reduce “stuff”.

A crop body not appreciably larger than the M6 but with the AF system of the R5/R6 cameras seems almost too good to be true. Does nirvana exist? ;-)a
