To me it was the difference between having the camera and just reading about it. I love the camera and am happy I got it when I could. As I said Hunts still hasn't had a single body only at this time.

I agree ! I'm 70, and 'time' is very important these days. I changed my B&H order to a R7 Kit, so that I could have the camera now. :)

US stores have received their second batch of "body only" shipment. I was lucky to get one of them.

This store chain in CA has several branches and i was lucky that they had an "unified pre-order list for all the stores".

In the first batch got 3 (for ALL their stores) and in the second batch (today) they got 5 (and i happened to be on the top 8 list).

I am armed with RF 24-240 and EF 100-400 ii -- fun begins !

Congratulations! And glad to see that a few "body only" orders are starting to trickle out.

That's a great set of lenses you have. Can't wait to see your pics!

I hope that means one shows up locally. So far, nothing. I am not on a pre-order list.

I am happy with my kit, I am just over 20,000 clicks

Same here, happy and have the kit, but I'm only at 1.5k clicks.

I never preordered but just kept an eye on retailers and Amazon, and spotted one (just 1) one evening on Amazon, put up by a reputable dealer. Went for it not knowing if it might have been a return or what, but the wrapping looked factory-fresh and my first shot was numbered 0001. :-)

I still have one on preorder for body only haven't cancelled it yet as that way I will see how long it is until they notify me.

The reason for the high clicks are BIF shotgunning and the pre-shot burst mode

So with the news that Canon is shutting down any 3rd party manufacturer for RF mounts, one can still get the .71 speedbooster from Vitrox through Ebay. I picked one up because I suspect that these will become ever more difficult to find long-term, certainly not at the current prices.

I already have the Viltrox booster for my M mount, and it works very well, so I hope this works just as well for EF lenses on the RF APS-C bodies like it does on my M50. :)

That was the first thing I bought, although I got it on Amazon. I also picked up my camera at Best Buy- they had one in stock online, but nothing in store- I haven’t had much of a chance to use it, but hopefully soon.

I bought one from an international seller on ebay, but my order was refunded and cancelled due to Viltrox asking everyone to return these due to Canon's demands. I bought from another and hope this time, it goes through.

Also bought the Viltrox 85 RF AF lens too... That will disappear shortly as well.

They still have the speed booster on their Amazon store. It is a bit more than eBay though

The inventory item is on their store, but they aren't selling them there any longer. There is a 3rd party seller offering one however, and that is likely why it still shows up in Amazon.

Interestingly they are still selling their EF to RF adapters, likely because there isn't any real tech there to copy, it is likely just a pass-through. Not sure though, as to why the EF/RF adapters are there, but no more speedboosters or RF AF Viltrox lenses. I finally received the 85 1.8 RF Viltrox lens, and it is very nice.

I was just contacted by the dealer who I got my R5 from a couple years ago, as I contacted them before buying my kit.
They were fine when I bought from them, I think $15 shipping. More A/V dealer, but does also sell cameras.
They have one R7 body only available.
Contact info is

LEROY RODRIGUEZ

Texas Media Systems Ltd.

512-440-1490 fax

Leroy is who I dealt with.

Good luck if you have been waiting!
If you buy it, please post it is sold.

Roberts Camera in Indy just called me, my body only is in, but I turned down the pre-order. I just don't have a need for it just yet, vs other things that need funds more at this time. Maybe stock is turning around? :)

I saw a post on Reddit where a guy said he updated the firmware on the R7 and now the speed booster doesn’t work

It’s keeping me from updating until it is known for sure not to cause problems.

Yeah I see that post, I wonder if there is any follow up that the person didn't post on that issue. The fact that it seems Canon is going after viltrox leads me to believe that there was some proven corporate espionage that went into those products? Meike sells RF mounted goods, as does Commlite, etc, and Metabones for an RF booster, but nothing on those fronts.
