Paul, are we the only ones that use the R10? It's a lot of camera for the cost. The focus system and fps are outstanding.

To be honest, I was very pleased with the sharpness the RF 100-400 zoom lens - being a budget lens from Canon, and pitched well below their acclaimed L series glass. Even though it has image stabilisation, I did use my tripod for most of these shots. If you're ever in the vicinity of Lancaster, I would heartily recommend a visit to Cockerham Sands - but beware, its a long way down a rather narrow and awkward single track road that seems to ever end! I hope you enjoyed this little marine story and managed to get to the end! Paul. My site: http://www.pauliddon.co.uk

I agree that it seems like a lot of camera for the cost. It was a choice for me between the R7 and the R10, but with a kid in university the cost was a factor, and I can live without the extra features of the R7. The R10 seems to offer everything I need, and to be honest I really like the small format. Will post photos next week. Gear: Canon R10, Canon RFS 18-150, Canon RF 100-400

I've lived in Canada for more decades than I like to admit, but I grew up in a little town called Garstang, just a few miles from Glasson Dock and Cockerham Sands. I enjoyed your photos - they brought back some nice memories. Gear: Canon R10, Canon RFS 18-150, Canon RF 100-400

I enjoyed your photos - they brought back some nice memories. Garstang is 20 minutes from my house, straight up the A6 (except for the new bypass built to take traffic away from Broughton village by the M6 motorway junction). It has lost a lot of of the quaintness it once had - too many new houses being built there - but inside the village itself, the narrow roads and small shops still afford some pleasant strolls. (3 edits in all) | Dec 05, 2022 14:55 | #70 I took my new camera into the back yard over the weekend. It's going to be a learning experience, but I can see that it will be a nice step up from my last camera (7D mark 1). And it's a whole lot lighter to carry around. There weren't many birds at the feeder but the dog was a willing substitute.
