Wondering how this will be for tracking insect eyes and the 15 frames per second for handheld stacking or in-focus photos. It looks promising so far.
A couple of nice APS-C entry level/hobbyist bodies.

I'm waiting for the reviews to come out. Wanna see what people think of focus peaking and EVF lag. I shoot a lot of moving subjects and EVF lag might be a problem for me (combined with shutter release lag).

Yep..me too... I always let others find the "bugs" and issues that may be present before considering purchasing new products like this. I have never been one to jump and buy new things just because they are the new product on the market. Some of those issues are addressed in the videos that are out now...BUT...I like to wait for unbiased real users reviews to come out.
It does look promising though..all the new tech and algorithms are making it easier....I need easier with these old eyes..LOL

That is mighty tempting. But of course when you buy one something even better will come out shortly afterwards.
I have been wanting for some time to get a mirrorless with blazing in-body focus bracketing and aggressive focus tracking. What I have been coveting for a couple years now are the Olympus m4/3 that do that. A feature they do, which I think is awesome, is called Pro Capture. This is meant to capture that perfect moment in an action shot. Its done by halfway pressing the shutter and just holding it. The camera rapidly records images (in Raw, with continual focus tracking) into the temporary buffer. I think it can hold a few dozen pictures in there. Once the buffer is full it drops early pictures out while it loads in new pictures. Then, when the moment comes (the insect takes off, for example), you press the shutter all the way. The perfect moment probably came before you pressed the shutter, but hopefully its in the store of pictures now being written to the memory card.
But switching to Olympus means new lenses too. So new mirrorless Canons are mighty tempting.

The Canon cameras mentioned that are coming out have that feature. Watch some of the videos and they show how it works. I remember one of the videos shows a bird taking off from the water and it takes the "pre" photos like what you are saying...Cool feature for sure..Seems that it would be good for macro also.

Embarrassed to say I have an Olympus M43 and didn't know about this feature. To be fair I bought it for the focus bracketing and internal focus stacking features. I don't attempt much bugs in flight but just had a go and can see it could work well although it's too gloomy outside at present to get fast enough shutter speeds.
