If you look at the histogram of these two images, they trend to the dark. In common terms, they are slightly underexposed and the high tones are not tone-mapped to the extent that they can be. The overall impression is that the shots are "shadowed" and desaturated (in other words, lacking color). If that's the style you choose, then it's an artist's expression and can't be disputed. Note however that it will not be as appealing to some.
From a composition standpoint, cars have faces. A good practice for composition is to allow the "face" room in which to look. So the centered composition would be slightly more aesthetically pleasing if there was a little more space in front of the vehicle. The shot on the winding road has the car facing right at the edge of the frame, giving the shot an unbalanced look. I'm willing to admit that the geometry of the setting might have given you limited freedom to explore a different point of view and framing, as the dramatic setting is appealing as it is. (Maybe take the car out of the picture altogether?).
