We've been without internet or cell phone coverage for the last few days. Glad to be able to communicate again.

My visit to Newfoundland was not intended to be photographic, I'm hear with my father and family to put my mother's ashes to rest in southern bay on the bonavista peninsula.

That said, I'm going to ask that you wish me luck.
Tomorrow, so many things have to go right, that results are a virtual impossibility. But if luck is with me every step, I just may have something to show despite not having my 100-400.

Fingers crossed.

Sorry for your loss Jake and all best wishes and good luck.

Hi Guys - in anticipation of my pre-ordered R7 arriving anytime soon before the R7DIII is released - can anyone tell me if I will be able to transfer the files from the camera to my laptop via the Wi-Fi. And also - will I still be able to connect the camera directly to my laptop via a usb lead.
Many thanks
Ray

I've read a handful of R7 Reviews, but Bryan's (The Digital Picture) has put me over the edge to buy. Aside from his opening remarks insisting the R7 is the direct upgrade to the 7DmkII - its a good review - absent anything really critical...

I placed an order on 28th May, on a whim, but because this has dragged out for so long i was feeling not bothered about it, but then i read that review and yes, my enthusiasm has been rekindled.

You can transfer via cable directly to a computer. I use the same cable I got from Amazon for my R6 and R7. Can’t speak to Wi-Fi ability as I have not done that.

Thank you - I find the cable transfer ok for my 7DII. But interested to know if there is an alternative.

The 7Dii cable won't work with the R7 because it has a different connector. The R7 has a USB-C connector, whereas the 7Dii has USB 3.0 micro B.

Also unlike the 7Dii, the R7 doesn't come with a cable in the box.

I use one of these (external link)

Thanks, I think I have got a suitable lead. I was hoping Wi-Fi transfer was possible.
