Mac Mojave, DPP 4.16.11, on the first editing tab. From the top it's Brightness, WB, Fine-tune WB, Auto lighting optimizer, Clarity, Picture style, Gamma, Curves, Advanced exposure and sharpening.

It shows when the 7D2 is connected but it's grayed out.

Mojave will not support 4.17 unfortunately. I can upgrade that machine one more OS level, Catalina I think, but IIRC I will lose some other program that I like.

Gotcha: so sort of mid tone contrast....

Does anyone have two R7's yet? I am using my R7 in about 90% of my shooting at this time (BIF and perched) and often with the RF600, I have started using my 90D as a second camera with either my 100-400Lii or 70-300ii on it next to my chair for times when the action gets too close for the R7, such as when a bunch of birds fly by. I like the 100-400Lii on the 90D but it does weight quite a bit more than the RF100-400 on the R7.
The big thing is that the controls are quite a bit different on the 90D from the R7 and in a rushed pressure situation I often mess up when grabbing the 90D.

I do love my 90D but I also love the R7. I know I should just go with what I have but I keep wondering....

How are you setting up the R7? If you set it up for BBF, it should operate similarly to the 90D. I know the controls are in different places but it shouldn't be too bad.

I have a similar situation with the R7 and R5. I haven't settled on how I want to work the R7 for birds yet, but if I wanted to, I could set them both for BBF and there would be harmony.

Very nice. Are you getting good image stabilization with the lens on the R7?

I always have the IS on, but I wouldn't know if it's really effective or not. I usually use high ISO, and high speed.
First photo ISO1600 and the second ISO3200

Cool to see how he uses his tail to balance himself.
Really nice footage, Dave. I love how you didn’t add music. I always prefer the natural sounds in clips like this.

Great stuff, love the Kestrels! That is some really stable footage. Was it handheld or on a tripod? Agree with Levina as well, thank you for not layering music over the top of it.

Thanks Levina. I can see things in a video, like his tail movements, that I can't pick up when I shoot stills. Still just barely learning video, but having fun learning.

Thank You! I used a tripod with a gallon of water hanging (8lbs) from center. Due to wind and shake from traffic, still had to use shake reduction to get jittery out of clips.May add a second gallon next windy day. Very long focal length equivalent used on these clips. Glad to know the absence of music is seen as good.

John Cage's "3:33" would probably work out nice, though.

4K crop mode 59.94P IPB

R7 RF 100-500 plus 1.4 @ 700mm

1/125 sec f11 +2/3 EC Auto ISO was getting 100-250 ISO

With the lens and 1.4 at 700mm , then add 1.6X for crop frame body you have 1120mm

Then crop mode on video has a 1.8 factor make it 2016mm field of view. (If all my math is correct)

Playing with the in camera focus stacking for the first time. R7 and 18-150mm kit lens. I think I need a lot more practise.
