Did a road trip to Leonardtown, MD (external link) yesterday to see the world's largest rubber duck (external link).

It's 6 stories tall and weighs 1200 lbs. Only takes 45 minutes to inflate. They use four pumps to inflate it and two to keep it inflated while on display.

Guess what?

A couple from a recent visit to the Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield Farms. I am really loving this camera, especially paired with the Canon EF 300mm. The lens (and me!) is a bit too slow for hummingbirds, although I have caught a few.
This is a Cordilleran Flycatcher, a lifer for me. It was in a grove of trees with not a lot of light but the sun was shining on the twig it was on. I used LRC DeNoise on it.

I was waiting for a Rufous hummingbird to reappear and noticed this Hummingbird moth near me. Never got the Rufous, though! lol :-)

My new 600/4 III and my R7 are a match made in heaven. Tested out the combo for the first time this weekend and here are some of the results. All shot wide open.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Young Kangaroo on a rainy day in our local zoo.
The R7 with the Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 G2 performs really well, especially when stopped down to f/3.5

Lots of big animals on my safari in the Masai Mara but can't forget about our feathered friends! This Lilac-breasted Roller was quite beautiful. Looked like he/she dipped themselves in some cotton candy! :-)

Very nice photos. Our related Dollarbirds should be returning to northern Australia soon.

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.
