in good light it might but my findings is the opposit it gets worse and with it's APS-C sensor at f10 and iso north 3200 is not good.
I'm using R7+RF100-500 with 1,4X TC and it works well on close subjects but on distant subjects it is hit or miss.

I have not had an issue (or any more issue than with the naked lens) doing BIF with the R1.4x so I don't think distance is an issue. Gear List
