Here we have an image of last night’s (Fri 29th Sept) almost full Moon as viewed from Brisbane.

I used the Canon RF 600mm F4, fitted with the Canon RF x2 Extender on the EOS R7.

The system was fitted to my tracking mount, where I grabbed 30 frames and then used a program called Autostakkert3! to Align the 30 frames and then finished the final image in PS CC.

Hi everyone, another r7 user here! Great to find so many r7 user here! I would like to share a seriouly bad bug on the r7 firmware. Maybe i'm not the only one that tired of the lacking of orginal rf-s lenses - no 22 f2, no 32 1.4, so do the third party lenses like sigma 16/23/30/56 1.4. After debating for a long time I decided to buy a manual lens. Finally, I got Laowa's CF 25/33mm 0.95. They are obviously not the cheaper large aperture products that can only achieve blur and light intake but cannot provide excellent image quality. Initially I was pleased with their performance on Canon bodies, but one night shooting I was shocked to find that the R7's excellent ibis performed very poorly on them. I made sure I entered the correct focal length into the menu to help ibis work on the "dead" lens, so apparently that wasn't the problem. Then after searching forums and youtube I found that this is a problem that has been around for a long time. . .Specifically, every time you shut down the camera, the entered focal length will become invalid (even if the focal length number is saved). You must turn off and then turn on the IS after every startup or enter an incorrect focal length to save and then enter the correct one and then save to start ibis correctly. . Sadly, Canon has excellent ibis but has a bug so egregious that I take advantage of it. Nikon can even store the focal lengths of multiple contactless manual lenses to easily switch them, while Panasonic will automatically ask for the focal length after connecting a contactless manual lens at startup to prevent you from forgetting to enter the menu to switch them. Canon's ban on third-party autofocus lenses is bad enough, now even third-party manual lenses are intentionally or unintentionally made more difficult to use. Does Canon think that since I don’t have the native Canon RF mount 32 1.4, Sigma 30 1.4, or even Laowa’s manual 33 0.95 that I can use, I will buy a full-frame RF 50 1.2 and connect it to my APSC’s R7? Comes with multiple sources reporting the same issue, proving this is not an issue that happens to my camera alone.

Welcome. Not to sound rude but it appears you may have purchased the wrong camera for your needs.

Secondly this place is shutting down soon. Not sure how many replies you will get. That is a lot to cover.

thank you for your reply. I switched from eos rp to r7 a year ago. I'm very interested in photographing birds, and my rf100-400 does work better with the apsc. But at the same time, I don’t want to give up my portrait/event photography when using rp. I originally wanted the r7 to be an all round camera. I'm currently in email communication with Canon USA and their first feedback is exactly as blame-shifting as an earlier user who reported this issue mentioned. I've sent a second more detailed email to help them reproduce the issue themselves. Expect to receive more positive responses in the future. I once owned an m6 markii, and maybe you've heard of its terrible shutter shock problem. Canon ultimately made no attempt to correct the problem by offering it an electronic front curtain. I thought Canon's indifference to APSC was the highest on this issue, but I didn't expect them to be able to do this on a flagship body like the R7. As you said, I may consider other mirrorless bodies in the future.
