In Oz, 100-500 is currently at lowest ever price, $4333.
Usual price has been $4800 and on sale about $4500.

Sony 200-600 is currently under $2300 and lowest has been $2093.

So it does not cost much more to get the Sony lens and a body compared to the Canon lens only.
A used Sony body with the new lens is definitely possible for the same money as Canon lens only.

Yeah Canadians & Americans each pay $1 for a McDonald's coffee, but Canadians pay $1999 for R7 vs $1499 usd...

We pay € 1519.99 which is $ 1603.47. But it includes the RF-to-EF adapter.

I've just found this review that seems to have a few ISO range tests for the R7: https://liewwkphoto.com/blog/?p=9836 (external link)

Interesting! This should give umphotography what he is wanting to see.

So do we, 5 years. Even though we have legal warranty here, so don’t really need it.

We get two years.

That’s a lot. Over here it’s $ 3270 (3099 euro).

I used to import gear from Europe before Brexit .... what a total farce that has been.

Edit : Just found the MQ button ... bit late now

They're different dollars. USD 1499 / .77 = CAD 1950, pretty close.

I was once in a lineup to pay a car repair bill (in Canada). A customer was being helped. The clerk said, it's $1200. But since you're paying in American dollars, that will be $925. The customer behind her gasped, and said, "Lucky!"

Sometimes it's the number that matters, not the kind of currency.

So disappointed with our local camera store. I was told earlier this month that I am 3rd in line for pre-ordered body only and they already received r7 with 3 bodies and some with kit lens, I pre ordered on May 12 way before the announcement and now they are saying I will not get one because I didn’t make the cut for first batch lol, if there are 3 and I am 3rd in line why I can’t have one of those 3 I asked, the guy said he doesn’t know how it works in the back, and put down the required $100 for deposit. Kenmore Camera in Seattle area. That’s a lot of BS from them IMO. I went online and pre ordered to another store.

So pictures will take a while from me.

Well, the thread title is: "-= Canon EOS R7 owners unite! Post photos and discuss". So it is all fair game, I guess. I personally prefer having separate discussion and image threads. like the R5 and R3 have.

I haven't seen this posted here, this guy has a excellent overview of the r7 & r10: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80j-3Lip1-M (external link) and has an interesting bit of info about the AF system on the r7 compared to the r5, on which the focus point is used to engage the servo focus and that begins the auto-tracking.

On the r7 (which is based on the r3, so those owners will know of this) the tracking begins right away, based on the selected subject and the AI algorithms.

He discusses this at 3.55 in the video.

For wildlife shooters this may be a big plus (and I'm sure, many other fast-paced categories as well).

Just a heads up for those lucky people that already have their r7, I'm placing my order for wildlife images! ;-)a
