The theme for this week's challenge is "Hometown Pride". I love my hometown, and I love to show it off. It could be a picture of a product your hometown is known for, a historical landmark, a particular value or attitude about life your hometown stands for, or just a place that makes you feel at home. Good Luck and Happy Shooting!

This challenge begins when posted and ends on Monday, July 4, 2022, midnight GMT. Winner of this challenge will be announced shortly thereafter.

The Challenge Rules:

1. Camera: Any DIGITAL CAMERA is allowed, not just DSLR.
2. Time: Any on-topic photo taken at any time is eligible, although photos that have won other competitions should NOT be entered.
3. Size: Please visit Image Posting Rules.
4. Post Processing: Do whatever you like and the host will decide if it works.
5. Posting: ONE PHOTO per photographer per challenge. List camera model & lens used. Post brief EXIF data: ISO, shutter speed and aperture.
6. Commenting: No commenting during challenge. When the posting is closed and a winner declared, comments can be made in this thread.
7. Keep it clean, and both Family and Work safe.
8. Have questions, PM me.
9. Have lots of FUN!

>> THE WINNER ALWAYS SETS THE THEME FOR THE NEXT CHALLENGE, POSTS IT AND JUDGES IT - BE PREPARED!

All of the submissions this week were really excellent and it was nice to see 7 submissions. But alas there can only be one winner.

Old Crow - You're photo of the Blackberry Festival could have been shot in my hometown. We have a yearly Red Poppy Festival that includes many booths selling cool one of a kind creations as well as great food and country music singers. Looks like a great turnout. Nice shot that captures the atmosphere.

Terry Pink - My older brother lived in San Jose for many years so I've had the opportunity to experience much of it. I don't think I've ever been to that location but it looks like a lot of fun, AND a lot of people. A very nice shot that really captures the enormity of the event. Well done.

In Photo - What an absolute gorgeous town and harbor. I wonder if that's a fort on the hill? I like the contrast of the bright red boat in the foreground, the dock off to the left and the nice muted colors of the old town. It's a very nice shot of an historical old town.

Ltdave - That's a magnificent shot of the Blue Water International Bridge linking the U.S. and Canada. I have never had the opportunity to be that far north in the U.S. and have never been to Canada. I will say it looks much nicer than many of the border crossings in my neck of the woods. A great wide-angle photo for sure.

Cuypers1807 - I am a huge WWII buff and like Battleships to be sure. I think the U.S.S. N.C. had those huge 16" guns if I remember correctly. Next time I visit my younger brother there I will have to make a side trip to check it out. I really like the elevated perspective of your shot.

RDWP - I really like this photo. The colors and the detail are fabulous. I found myself studying it for awhile picking out all the interesting things captured in the shot. Nice job. This photo takes the runner up photo of the challenge.

Dilorenzo1954 - You sir are the contest winner this week. I am a big time supporter of our troops and all who serve this great Country. Several years ago I helped build several houses for our vets so this photo really hit home for me. What a fantastic thing for your town to do for our disabled vets. I really love the mood of the photo and can even imagine maybe a prayer is being said at that very moment. A great capture for sure.

Congrats to everyone this week for representing your home towns in first class fashion.

Dilorenzo1954, take us to the next challenge my good man.

Thanks TORCHRIDER!
That was certainly a very special event for me…I was asked to participate by my former employer to help in providing refreshments to the volunteers and was completely in awe of the immense task at hand and how quickly they put up the structure for the wounded hero and his family. they had the home completely framed and sheathed in a matter of hours and the tradesmen inside installing the utilities by the end of the day. The people in the picture are Frank Pierson (the honoree)and his mother. I was just lucky enough to have been invited and so glad I brought my camera.
Great contest with equally great entries! Congrats to Rob as well:-)
I will have the new challenge up quickly.

See? That was quick!

Good contest and so many good images. And thanks for the nod to mine, Torch.

Ed - that is a terrific shot.
