Maybe one of the most misunderstood of me of the big five. I never can read if they are going to be docile (most often) or suddenly charge (usually only a mock charge).

Obviously, both of these images are pan shots. I like to show motion in my rhino photos.

The red color is from the high iron content at this reserve. That's a white rhino. White rhinos are grazers and have a wide mouth adapted for eating from the ground.
The night shot is a black rhino, also known as a hook lip rhino. Black rhinos are browsers and have a hooked lip more suited for grabbing branches.

Please, if you have rhinoceros' shots. Share them but unless the shots are quite old, I'd rather you not share the origin of the image as we don't want to give info to poachers.

A few more rhino shots showing a sense of place.

The rhino at water's edge is a white rhino. The rhino in deeper brush is a black rhino. This second image has a filter overlay in an attempt to make the brush less distracting.

Wow to all of them, Buddy. But WOW to the last. That’s an incredible shot.

Would you believe only 4 meters! I. In an underground hide at a small waterhole.
