This bus stop is past its use-by date.

Okay...I guess I better explain.

That seat has been there for as long as I can remember and it's in a City Council park (New Farm Park) overlooking a children's playground here in Brisbane. The tree is a Strangler Fig, which sends down aerial roots to support its spreading branches. They "invaded" the seat and the Council decided to leave it as is.

The tree itself must be over a hundred years old. I remember it as being a great climbing tree when I was a kid. It still looks healthy as ever.

This is actually a coneptual shot. hehe.
It's usually buildings/roads (civilization :D) that destroy the natural beauty in the world.
W. this, it's the other way around. Cool!

I really like the subject here, flash doesn't do it justice IMO, but what a neat subject.

Great capture,
its crying out to be converted to b/w.
I did a quick conversion, ok result as I only had the jpeg to work with.
I also agree regarding the flash, but again that can tweaked in photoshop.
Keep us posted on other unusual things you find.

Hmm. Couldn't think how else to do it...it was bloody dark under that tree (spreads right over my head). I might go back and try again with a looong exposure using a tripod and up the ISO a little. Thanks for the idea.

Wow, thats a great shot. I think just for fun, you should have someone sitting there waiting for the bus.

There's your answer ;)

With a static subject, you can always get better results with a tripod than flash, it's just a matter of actually having a tripod available.
