Having to replace Canon Pro1000 printer

I am having to replace my Canon Pro1000 printer. The inks are still fairly full and the print head on my old machine is still in good working order. Will it be alright to install these in my new machine when it arrives and keep the ones that come with the new machine as spares? Also if I use my existing print head in the new printer will I need to get new profiles for the different papers I use?

I'd give Canon support a call before you try this.
