Decided to give my avian friends a break and went after some arthropods instead! Here is a Western Yellowjacket (Vespula pensylvanica), native to North America. This was photographed in the Azusa Wilderness Park in the San Gabriels in Southern California.

Gear List

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.
